Junior Rose Parade Coming SOON!
Volunteer opportunities available!
The Portland Rose Festival team is excited to excited to share that the upcoming 2024 Fred Meyer Junior Parade will be coming to or near your neighborhood on Wednesday, June 5, 2024. We would like to spread the word and generate excitement for the parade within our community. Below is a flyer containing detailed information about the parade and a map outlining the parade route.
On Wednesday, June 5, certain streets along and near the parade route will be closed, with some closures beginning as early as 8 am and lasting until 4 pm. Parking will also be prohibited along the route on parade day. Please note that all affected areas will be clearly marked with signs, and staffed barricades will be positioned at entry points to closed areas. We want to make residents aware that the parade will bring noise in the form of elementary and middle-school instrumental bands, as well as amplified music, along the parade route from 1 pm to 3 pm. We encourage families in the neighborhood to participate in this festive event by marching in the parade, decorating a bike, making a float, or simply cheering on the participants along the route.
Your support and involvement will contribute to making this event a memorable experience for everyone in the community. Entry registration and more information can be found here: https://www.rosefestival.org/events/2024/2024juniorparade
On May 18th, the Rose Festival will be hosting a Junior Parade Float Building Workshop at our Float Barn at 6136 NE 87th Ave. Portland, OR 97220 from 10am to 1pm. This free event is a hands-on workshop to help families and entries gather inspiration and learn how to build mini-floats for the parade.
