Emergency Preparedness
Are you interested in learning how you can help your neighbors prepare for and respond to an emergency or natural disaster like a severe winter storm or major earthquake? If so, you might consider joining the See Grant Park Neighborhood Emergency Team (NET). NET members are specially trained by the Portland Bureau of Emergency Management Portland Bureau of Emergency Management and Portland Fire and Rescue to provide emergency planning and assistance within their own neighborhoods. Grant Park’s NET is very small in number for a neighborhood of our size, so please consider this rewarding and potentially lifesaving volunteer opportunity.

Small Grant Requests
As of January 2024: due to financial constraints, the GPNA small grants program has been paused for the foreseeable future.
Historically, Grant Park Neighborhood Association has donated funds to projects that build and sustain strong community ties in the Grant Park neighborhood and surrounding Northeast Portland neighborhoods. The grants are intended to support local efforts that protect and expand neighborhood investments and help community-based organizations expand their roles as community anchors. GPNA donation requests are limited to a maximum of $500 per request for one-time short-term (one year maximum) projects.
GPNA funds projects and activities that:
- Preserve or enhance the livability and/or safety of the neighborhood
- Provide innovative community development tools
- Enhance a community’s organizations ability to function more effectively
- Support a one-time community event open to a wide range of participants
GPNA gives priorities to project that:
- Promote NE Portland community resident participation
- Foster collaboration among different community agencies or non-profit organizations
GPNA does not fund projects and activities such as:
- Individuals
- Political causes, candidates or campaigns
- Sponsorships
- Association memberships
Please complete the Small Grant Request Form and submit it to GPNA board at least one week prior to the next GPNA meeting.
